Home : Health & Social Care :

Two nurses supporting an older womanHelp the Aged wants all older people to be able to access services which meet their needs and are designed to preserve their dignity and promote their well-being and independence.

We want to see a greater focus on health promotion within health and care services, with more money being invested earlier, so that people can avoid premature decline and dependence.

We are working to break down all of the barriers to older people accessing care and health services including the unfair cost burdens, lack of information and lack of consistency in services. We are also encouraging and informing debate about the way care services are paid for across the UK.

This section contains information about our policy position on:

  • health and social care services;
  • healthy ageing;
  • preventative services; and
  • the broader public health agenda.
