Elder abuse blights older people's lives. Experts estimate that at any one time, around half a million older people are facing some form of abuse.

Elder abuse takes many forms - physical, psychological, emotional and financial to name but a few. Help the Aged is campaigning to raise awareness of the problem and to seek solutions.

Response on reducing the risk of elder abuse in homesharing through improved recruitment, training, matching, and supervising of homesharers and new procedures for complaints and reports of abuse.

CRB Disclosures for Care Homes etc. (April 2004)

Response to the Criminal Records Bureau on proposed changes to regulation for care home, domiciliary care agency and nursing agency staff for greater protection of vulnerable older people against potential abuse.

POVA consultation response (December 2003)
